What do we cost?

$90 per hour +GST Minimum 1-hour Plus vehicle charge

How do we calculate the cost of labour on your job?
The obvious time we charge for a job is made up of the time spent at your property and travel time. However, there is often additional unseen time spent on jobs. For example, sourcing, ordering and picking up parts; cleaning up; disposing of rubbish/materials we may have removed from your property; and administration. All these factors contribute towards the labour cost for your job. We would never charge for time unrelated to your job. We pride ourselves on honest pricing. Your invoice will also include a separate Materials section relating to your job.
Additional charges
Vehicle charge
Every visit incurs a vehicle charge. This contributes towards the running of our vehicles - fuel, WOF, registration, RUC, insurance, and maintenance. Palmerston North city centre (20km radius) - $30 +GST Fielding town centre (20km radius) - $30 +GST Outside of radius - $1 +GST per kilometre The vehicle charge does not include time for travel - this is incurred within labour costs.
Gas certificates
When working on your gas system we are legally required to complete a 'gas certificate of compliance' or 'gas safety certificate'. The type of certificate required depends on the type of work completed (e.g. servicing an existing gas heater would require a safety certificate, but installing a new gas appliance would require a gas certificate of compliance). These certificates are completed and issued by a certifying gasfitter, and any high-risk work is also lodged on the Worksafe Energy Safety website. You will receive a copy of the applicable certificate for your records. Gas certificate of compliance - $100 +GST Gas safety certificate - $60 +GST The cost of issuing certificates relates mostly to the administration time, but also the liability taken on when certifying your gas system.
